What Happens in a Poker Showdown?
A poker hand turns face up after the final betting round. The hand only reaches a showdown if there were any callers during the last round of betting, or if someone had gone all-in before the last round of betting. In addition, poker hands can have side pots, which are separate from the main pot and comprise money bet by the remaining players. These side pots can be large and can contain a variety of players. If a player goes all-in, he is only eligible to win the pot that he contributed.
